Embark on a royal adventure through Rajasthan and discover its regal wonders. From Delhi’s vibrant streets to the Taj Mahal’s enchanting beauty in Agra, the Pink City’s alluring architecture in Jaipur, this itinerary takes you on a journey fit for royalty. Take in the iconic Gurudwara Bangla Sahib and Humayun’s Tomb in Delhi before experiencing a rickshaw ride through Old Delhi. In Jaipur, savor a cooking demonstration and dinner with a local family while exploring Amber Fort, Hawa Mahal, City Palace, and Jantar Mantar. A trip to Agra is not complete without witnessing the Taj Mahal at sunset. Then visit timeless Orchha and Khajuraho famous for its exquisitely carved medieval Hindu temples. Next visit Varanasi which is known for its spiritual significance and cultural richness. In Kathmandu, tour the Durbar Square and Swayambhunath Temple, and travel to Nagarkot for a stunning view of the Himalayan range. You’ll also visit Pashupatinath Temple, the largest stupa in Nepal, and end your trip in Pokhara.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival – Delhi

When you land in Delhi in the evening, a representative from Terra Viaggi will assist you on arrival and chauffeur you to the hotel for check-in and overnight stay. Feel free to use the hotel facilities to relax and ease the jet lag after your journey.

Day 2: Delhi

We begin the day by visiting Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, a Sikh place of worship where every day thousands of people from every walk of life are fed. You have the option to assist the kitchen volunteers in their job. Next, we visit the ever-peaceful Humayun’s Tomb – a UNESCO World Heritage Site and then shop along the priciest shopping strip in India. You will find excellent bookshops, up-market boutiques, and brand showrooms. Additionally, there are nice eateries and cafes that are popular with the locals where you can enjoy your lunch (payable directly).

Next, we visit Gandhi Smriti to honour the inspirational figure who, in the late 1940s, through a nonviolent approach spurred reform that resulted in India being independent. Late in the afternoon, enjoy a rickshaw ride through its alleys that offer a unique insight into its historic past and present-day cultural fabric, making Old Delhi the perfect amalgamation of living traditions and spectacular built heritage. Enjoy this unique essence of Old Delhi at a leisurely pace on our rickshaws with customized pit stops that are designed to suit your needs and requirements and give you a compelling snapshot of Old Delhi.

Day 03: Delhi- Jaipur

Drive to Jaipur and enjoy the afternoon at leisure. 

In the evening, you are invited to the house of an Indian Family for a Cooking Demonstration followed by dinner. Here, you’ll get to see what a typical Rajasthani home looks like, experience the hospitality for which India is so famous, and enjoy a dinner featuring local cuisine.

Day 04: Jaipur

In the wee hours of the morning embark on Jaipur’s captivating Bicycle Tour, immersing yourself in the city’s culture, architecture, and delightful culinary offerings. Ride through narrow streets, passing vintage Havelis and architectural marvels. Enjoy traditional Indian tea, witness a spiritual Pooja ceremony at a grand temple, explore vibrant market stalls, savor freshly fried fritters, and admire the city’s planned layout from a rooftop. Discover artisan-filled corridors and conclude the tour with a refreshing taste of Lassi, completing your unforgettable Jaipur experience. Later, return to the hotel.

 

Discover Jaigarh Fort, built by Jai Singh in 1726, offering panoramic views of the plains and a fascinating museum. From this vantage point, behold the captivating Amber Fort with its blend of Hindu and Mughal architecture against a backdrop of rugged hills. Approach Amber Fort from Jaigarh Fort for a unique perspective, admiring its striking exterior and exploring intricate carvings, vibrant murals, and precious stones within. Conclude your visit with a glimpse of a lesser-known stepwell, adding to the charm of this unforgettable experience.

 

Return to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 05: Jaipur - Agra

After the visit, we continue with your drive to Agra. Check-in at the hotel upon arrival. 

In the afternoon we visit Agra Fort – a UNESCO World Heritage site. It was the main residence of the emperors of the Mughal Dynasty till 1638 when the capital was shifted from Agra to Delhi. It has several fairy-tale palaces, including Jahangir Palace and the Khas Mahal built by Shah Jahan; audience halls like the Diwan-i-Khas, and two exquisite mosques.

Next, at sunset, we visit the white wonder marble standing majestically on the banks of River Yamuna. Taj Mahal – a UNESCO World Heritage Site was built in 1632 by Shah Jahan to house the tomb of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. The Taj Mahal’s exterior embellishments serve as the ideal illustration of exquisite Mughal art. The Taj Mahal’s marble inlay art is a marvel and will be a striking ornamental element.

Day 06: Agra – Jhansi (By Train) – Orchha – Khajuraho

Board the morning train towards Jhansi. Drive to Khajuraho, the land of Kamasutra. En route, spend half a day exploring Orchha, a little hamlet in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, which previously served as the seat of the powerful Bundela rulers, who in the Middle Ages reigned over a vast area between the Ganga and the Narmada. The historical sites in Orchha still exude pure beauty and tell tales of love, conflict, and devastation. Additionally, it is a location well-known for the Bundela paintings, for which it was formerly a hub of activity.

The majority of Orchha’s attractions are located within the fort complex, which also includes palaces, temples, cenotaphs, and memorials. There are three palaces arranged in a quadrangle within the complex, which is accessible through a multi-arched bridge.

After the visit, we continue with our drive to Khajuraho. Check-in at the hotel upon arrival.

Day 07: Khajuraho – Varanasi (By Flight)

This morning we leave for sightseeing of the Khajuraho Group of Temples, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was constructed by the Chandela Dynasty during the Middle Ages and is renowned for its Nagara-Style architecture and beautiful statues of nayikas (Hindu Mythological female characters) and deities. According to historical records, there were 85 temples in the temple complex in the 12th century, covering 20 square kilometers. Only 25 of these temples—scattered throughout a six-square-kilometer area—have endured the passage of time. 

After visiting the Eastern & Western groups of temples, we take a leisurely walk in the nearby Jatkara Village. This is the village of pot makers. Feel the warmth of the villagers as you interact with a local family. 

Later, board your flight to Varanasi. On arrival, a representative from Terra Viaggi will assist you on arrival and chauffeur you to the hotel for check-in. Enjoy a private, guided tour of the sacred city at night while seeing Varanasi as Mahashamstana, the enormous cremation site. While comparing the distinctions between Tantric and Vedic philosophy, you will experience death and rebirth as you make your way via Kali temples to the cremation grounds.

Day 08: Varanasi

Early this morning around 0530 for a sunrise boat excursion on the holy River Ganges. Then we visit the mud arena known as Akhara. Wrestlers learn and perform the form of grappling we refer to as Kushti or Pehlwani. Return to the hotel for breakfast and later visit different temples of Varanasi. Begin by visiting the Bharat Mata Temple with a big relief map of India in Marble, Durga Temple, Tulsi Manas Mandir, and Shri Vishwanath Mandir situated at Benaras Hindu University. 

In the afternoon enjoy a visit to Sarnath. This is the site where Lord Buddha preached his first sermon “Maha Dharma Chakra Pravartan” (in Buddhist terminology, ‘turned the wheel of the law’) after his enlightenment. Later in the evening, with the whirling of oil lamps, chorus chanting, flower offerings, and other activities, a large rhythmic aarti ceremony is performed at dusk. Goddess Shitala, who is regarded as the element of life and death, is said to reside at the Dashashwamedh Ghat.

Day 09: Varanasi – Kathmandu (By Flight)

Board your morning flight to Kathmandu, Nepal’s capital, where you will be welcomed and escorted to your hotel for check-in. 

Following that, we go on a guided tour of Kathmandu’s Durbar Square (listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Built between 1200 to 1768 A.D the Kathmandu Durbar Square is one of the popular places liked by many visitors due to its exquisite architecture and artistic embellishment. 

Next, we visit Swayambhunath Temple (listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO). Atop a green hillock west of Kathmandu, stands the great stupa of Swayambhunath. This is a site that is over 2500 years old marking the point where the legendary patriarch Manjushri discovered the lotus of the ancient valley lake. 0Overnight stay is at the hotel.

Day 10: Kathmandu

Early morning, we drive to Nagarkot for its view of the Himalayan range, stretching from Dhaulagiri in the west and Everest to Kanchenjunga in the east. It is the best close-range Himalayan vantage point from anywhere on the Kathmandu valley rim. Later, we visit Kathmandu Durbar Square (listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO) is one of the popular places liked by many visitors due to its exquisite architecture and artistic embellishment. 

The afternoon is dedicated to the visit to Pashupatinath Temple (listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO): Dedicated to Lord Shiva it is one of the most sacred Hindu shrines in the world. We end our sightseeing with Boudhanath Stupa; This is the largest stupa in Nepal and one of the largest in the world located east of the valley.

Day 11: Kathmandu – Pokhara (By Flight)

In time reach Kathmandu airport to catch your flight to Pokhara – the gateway to the Himalayas. The remainder of the day is yours to do anything you choose.

Day 12: Pokhara – Sarangkot – Pokhara

The trip to Sarangkot in the morning (to view the Himalayas close-up). Visit Davi’s Fall, Seti Gorge, Mahendra Cave, Shiva Cave, and the Tibetan Refugee Camp in Pokhara. Wander in Pokhara’s old bazaar and later in the evening enjoy a sunset boat ride on Phewa Lake.

Day 13: Pokhara – Kathmandu (By Flight)

In time reach Pokhara airport to catch your flight to Kathmandu. Check-in at the hotel upon arrival. 

After lunch visit Patan Durbar Square (listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO). Patan Durbar Square has been acclaimed as one of the finest urban streetscapes in the world. Most of the monuments seen today were built between the 16th – 18th centuries. It is known as the center of fine arts and for the superb craftsmanship of its artisans.

Day 14: Kathmandu – Departure

After breakfast in the morning, you will be escorted by a Terra Viaggi representative and assisted at the Kathmandu International airport for your flight back home.
