Practices and Initiatives

Balika Foundation: Launched in 2010 by the Tree of Life Resorts, this Foundation looks after the education of the girl child of those families from nearby villages who cannot afford a decent education for their daughters. They encourage them to go to school/college and pay the entire fee till whatever level they want to study. Children sponsored by them in the past have studied medicine, teachers training, and the like.

Adopt The School: They have adopted two schools in the neighbourhood. They encourage guests to visit the children during school and Teach A While - any subject of their choice. Football and cricket matches are also organized between our guests and the children. The resort has also donated computers for the school.

Say No To Plastic: Two times a year, they get all the children of the village together and educate them on how to use less plastic. They then provide them with gloves and bags to collect all the plastic which is littered around. This is followed by a visit to the resort where snacks and soft drinks are served with some games.

They donated funds to get a 300 year old Temple in the village renovated and repaired.

Medical camps are held to do a general check-ups for the villagers.
