Description
Bujera Fort, Udaipur
BRIEF OVERVIEW
Bujera Fort, Udaipur
Bujera Fort is a stunning luxury hotel located in Udaipur. It is a beautifully designed property that looks like a magical toy fort for grown-ups to play in. It is situated on the edge of the small village of Bujera, with distant views of the lake and city. The fort was built by Richard Hanlon and Trish McFarlane, who previously worked as interior designer and a diamond broker, respectively.
Constructed on purely traditional lines, with eighty-six hand-carved stone columns and many Jarokas in local stone. It has all the feel and atmosphere of a glorious English country house with wonderful fabrics interspersed with Indian antiques, fabrics, and “style”. It is truly a unique property, and guests are immediately transported to another world as they step through its gates.
The hotel has been designed to feel like your own home, with full, but unobtrusive service and staff to make you feel totally cared for, but not smothered. The central courtyard has a swimming pool, beautifully designed like a step well, surrounded by flower-filled gardens with many secluded areas and fountains. One of the best things about Bujera Fort is that it offers an alternative for those who don’t want to be in the thick of the throng. The notion of a new-build fort might conjure ideas of a grim, modern military complex, but Bujera proves to be the exception. Its Mughal-style exteriors and shabby chic interiors result in a colorful melange of furnishings and fittings.
In conclusion, Bujera Fort is truly gorgeous, small, friendly, and welcoming property that provides an unforgettable experience to its guests. From its beautiful design and architecture to its top-notch service and amenities, this hotel is a must-visit for anyone traveling to Udaipur.
