When to visit Nepal

Among October and December is the best time to visit Nepal as the skies are commonly clear and the perspectives fabulous. The climate stays dry until about April. January and February can be extremely cold, particularly around evening time, yet will balance you with fantastic scenes and calmer trekking trails as there are fewer guests.

Nepal’s weather in late December through February can be quite chilly, but it’s bearable, even though it gets very nippy at night, particularly in the mountains. January is definitely the frostiest month, but it’s an advantage since there are fewer people, making it less crowded.

Spring is a fantastic time to visit Nepal, as the warm weather and flourishing rhododendron forests in the highlands make it an idyllic destination. Additionally, it’s an excellent opportunity to catch a glimpse of the elusive one-horned rhinos, tigers, and other wildlife, making it an unforgettable experience.

Late spring in May is an enchanting time to travel, with the rhododendrons bursting into a colorful display of blooms. However, it’s also a time when the peace and serenity are fleeting as the clouds start to gather and the first showers of the upcoming Monsoon season begin to fall.

Nepal’s Monsoon season, from June to August, brings daily rainfall that may not last all day but is consistent nonetheless. This leads to muddy trails teeming with leeches, mountains obscured by thick clouds, and travel disruptions from common landslides. If you’re looking to trek during this time, head towards the Manang, Mustang, or Dolpo regions in the Himalayas, which are sheltered in rain shadows.
