Staff in Manvār Kumat is 100% local and it helps support 500 families living in desert villages.

Since camels are no longer useful for locals after modernization of agriculture and transport, Manvār uses them for camel safaris, supporting over 100 camel owners and help increase camel population in local villages.

Manvār supports and patronizes local musicians and dance forms, leading to the revival of music in the traditional village of Langas and the Kalbeliya form of dance in neighboring villages.

Manvār protects desert flora and fauna by restoring over 500 acres of desert land to its original form and raising awareness in local villages about the importance of Orans and Gochars for livestock grazing.

The head of Manvār Kumat is also the head of Devraj Hitakarini Sabha, a local non-political organization that works in 24 Devraj villages, promoting social reforms, encouraging girl child education, protecting and restoring heritage monuments, and settling disputes through community meetings.
